I don't know why but i like what Paul Engle had to say. This is a very good way to describe poetry to the average Joe. You take words and make them more than they are, raise them to mean something totally different. It says poetry is a language that takes more thinking to understand. that might be why he used the term "nth power" like in math when using exponents it raises and makes a number so much greater sometimes. As in poetry its the English language raised so much higher , with much more meaning.
